Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 20 August 2026
The terms that apply when you buy a ticket to an event listed by Ticky.
1. About these terms
These Terms & Conditions govern the sale of event tickets by [Registered business name and address — to be completed] (“Ticky”, “we”, “us”) through this website. By placing an order you agree to be bound by these terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Refund & Cancellation Policy. These terms are governed by the law of South Africa, and, where applicable, by the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (“CPA”) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (“ECTA”).
Ticky provides the underlying ticketing technology. Individual events are organised and run by independent event organisers, who are responsible for the event itself.
2. What you are buying
A ticket is a revocable licenceto attend a specific event, at the date, time, and venue stated at the time of purchase, subject to the event organiser's rules of entry. A ticket does not transfer any ownership interest in the event or the venue, and admission may be refused in the circumstances described in Section 6.
3. Pricing and payment
- All prices are shown and charged in South African Rand (ZAR) unless stated otherwise.
- Ticket prices may include a booking or service fee, shown separately at checkout before you confirm payment.
- Payment is processed securely by Yoco. We do not see or store your full card details.
- Your order is only confirmed once payment has cleared. You will receive an order confirmation and your tickets by email once payment succeeds.
- Prices may change at any time before an order is placed, but never after payment has been confirmed for that order.
4. Your tickets and entry (QR codes)
Each ticket is issued as a unique QR code sent to the email address used at checkout. Please read this section carefully — it explains how entry works.
- Each QR code is valid for one scan only. Once it has been scanned for entry, it cannot be used again.
- Do not share a screenshot or forward of your ticket with anyone you do not intend to give your seat to — whoever presents a valid, unscanned QR code first will be admitted.
- Duplicate or previously-scanned QR codes will be refused entry at the gate. We are not responsible for tickets that have been shared, screenshotted, or forwarded and then scanned by someone other than the intended holder.
- Keep your ticket email safe. If you have lost it, contact us before the event so we can help.
5. Transferring a ticket
This platform lets you transfer a ticket you have bought to another person before the event, from your account. When you transfer a ticket:
- A new QR code is issued to the recipient.
- Your original QR code is immediately invalidated and will no longer scan for entry.
- You are responsible for transferring tickets only to people you trust to attend in your place — once transferred, we treat the recipient as the ticket holder for entry purposes.
- Transfers cannot be reversed once the recipient has accepted the ticket.
6. Right of admission and entry conditions
Right of admission is reserved. The event organiser may refuse entry, or require you to leave the event, where reasonably necessary — for example, for safety reasons, intoxication, disorderly conduct, carrying prohibited items, or failing to meet an age restriction stated on the event listing. Some events are age-restricted; you may be asked for valid ID at the gate, and entry may be refused if you cannot show it.
You are responsible for arriving with a valid, unscanned ticket and any ID the event requires. Refusal of entry for failing to meet a clearly stated entry condition is not treated as an event cancellation for the purposes of our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
7. Changes and cancellations by the organiser
Event organisers sometimes need to change a date, time, venue, line-up, or format, or cancel an event entirely, for reasons outside anyone's control. Where this happens:
- We will try to notify ticket holders by email as soon as reasonably possible.
- What happens to your ticket (refund, exchange, or credit) depends on whether the event is cancelled, materially postponed, or only minorly changed — see our Refund & Cancellation Policy for the detail.
- We are not liable for losses you incur as a result of an event change or cancellation beyond the ticket price itself (for example, travel or accommodation you have separately booked), except where the law does not allow us to exclude that liability.
8. Your conduct
You agree to use this site and your tickets lawfully, and not to resell tickets at an inflated price where that is prohibited by the event organiser or by law, attempt to circumvent ticket limits, or use automated means (bots) to purchase tickets.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, Ticky is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your purchase or use of a ticket, including loss of enjoyment, travel, or accommodation costs. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under the CPA or other applicable law, including liability for gross negligence or for goods or services that are unsafe, of poor quality, or not fit for their intended purpose.
Where Ticky acts only as the ticketing service provider for an independent event organiser, we are not responsible for the conduct of the organiser, the venue, or the event itself (its quality, safety on site, or whether it proceeds as advertised) beyond the ticketing process — that responsibility rests with the organiser running the event.
10. Electronic communications (ECTA)
By placing an order, you consent to receiving your order confirmation, tickets, and event-related communications electronically, by email, in accordance with the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002. An electronic record of your order, generated at the time of purchase, is accepted between us as evidence of its terms.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force at the time you place an order is the version that applies to that order. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page tells you when these terms were last revised.
12. Contact us
Questions about these terms, or about a specific order, can be sent to [Platform support email — to be completed].
